Have you checked petfinders.com or the horse rescues? These are good sources for buying a horse that is not going to cost you an arm and a leg. I know of a thoroughbred ex-racehorse rescue that picks up the horses as soon as the owner wants to get rid of them.

i know where a trained one is for free if you take over board... in alberta canada...
dont know where u live tho.
