Starting the Sims Game??

Question

I've gotten addicted to the sims games and want to buy them to play on my own computer...What do I need to get and what are the expansion packs? thanks:)

Sims Deluxe Edition (comes with Sims, Sims Liviv' Large, and exclusive deluxe content) Sims Superstar, Sims Hot Date, Sims Makin' Magic, Sims Vacation, Sims House Party, and Sims Unleashed.

Sims 2:

Sims 2, Sims 2 Holiday Edition, Sims 2 University, Sims 2 Seasons, Sims 2 Nightlife, Sims 2 Pets, Sims 2 Open For Business, Sims 2 Glamour Life, and the Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff.

sims or sims 2? For the sims see if you can find the deluxe pack that comes with a few expansion packs and saves money. As for sims 2 I suggest starting with nightlife(you can have cars) and depending what your wanting to do with your sims, there's open for business(very fun) if you want to get on the career track , university is good. I don't have pets and glamour life isn't bad, but you can always just download custom content for free. Clothes, furniture, houses ect.
