I lost a bid on ebay then 10 mins later I became the winner?

Question

I did last minute bidding on an item today. Even at the last minute (59 secs before the auction) my highest bid was not good enough.

I watched the end of the auction and someone bid higher than me about a couple hours before me, so I saw that I lost the auction. Then about 10 mins later I go back to ebay and see now I won the item?! What happened?

I know that the person did not retract their bid because they bid two separate times.

I have been selling and buying on ebay for years and this has never happened!!

the # of times they bid doesn't mean they didn't retract the bid.

it sounds as if you were shilled.

if you email me the item # i will take a look for you.

have you checked the bid history of the person that WAS winning?

maybe its multiple item auction? then top bidders win
