i know this question has probably been asked a number of time on here but im asking again. In my opinoin Mariah carey has the best voice than any female artist out there come on she has a five octave voice, and she can hold a note like no tomorrow. im not trying to dis Whitney dont get me wrong she has or should i say once had a great voice to but in no kinda of way could Whitney give Mariah any kind of competition.

It's always been Mariah. If she would only keep herself from smoking, she would keep that perfect voice too.
Whitney is great, but she has a little too much of a contrived, vibrato sound and it's hard to watch her sing. For Mariah, it just looks easy and natural too.

I think Whitney has the better voice. Whitney has the church up bringing and definitely a gift from God. Yes, Mariah can hit a high note or two but true singing. It's Whitney baby. Hands down. Whitney can run circle around Mariah.

Whitney, she can hold higher pitched notes longer. Way longer then Mariah does. I don't even consider Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey in the same catagory. It's like comparing apples and oranges. You wanna compare a couple apples, try Whitney Houston and Celine Dion.

I like Whitney better. I think they both have amazing voices but I'd rather hear Whitney's old stuff over anything Mariah Carey has come out with anyday.

Mariah Carey has the looks, voice and brains of a superstar. Whitney has only just showed she has the possibility of having a brain by finally ditching Bobby. She a one type singer, Mariah is in a class of her own.

That's really not a fair question because Mariah's still big and selling CDs while Whitney is a "Has-Been" who is doing drugs and stuff with her hubby. You all are forgetting, Mariah was close to becoming a "Has-Been" as well. Before her big come-back her CD's weren't selling so well for the paast couple years.

When Whitney was at her prime, she and Mariah were both on the same level vocally. I think it's just a question of who do you like better. I personally like Mariah a little better than Whitney. Image is everything!
