they removed 2 ovarian cysts, one on each side and im still in alot of pain to this day. i have gone to the doctor three times and she said that i will always have this pain and that im going to have a hard time getting pregnant so they r going to run a test to see if i can or not plus we really want kids. my b/f and i have been trying for almost 2 years now. my doctor told me that the only way to get rid of the pain is to either take everything out or go on some sort of pill that will shut my system down until we want to try to get pregnant. my question is what should i do, should i get a 2nd opion or what. we really want kids but i hate being in this much pain all the time.

Get a 2nd opinion. If you had surgery it was to fix something and if you're still in a lot of pain they prolly didn't fix everything they should have.

I don't think you should be in that much pain after the removing of the ovarian cysts - get a second opinion on this. Unless you maybe have PCOS?

Take your time with the fertility tests - worrying will only make you feel bad about something you can't control. And even if it's bad news, it's better that you know right? Then you can deal with it and make plans either way.

When you see your specialist, or second doctor, ask about the possibility of the pain easing after a pregnancy, and if maybe it would be less painful and easier to get pregnant after a time on some sort of 'shut down' pill.

Good luck - I wish you the very best luck for the future. xx

i think your doc is on crack. I had the same surgery, and was out of the hosp. the next day. I went back once 2 weeks later, and i was pain free. It's almost 5 years later, and I have a 4-year old son. I think she left something in you and she doen't want you to sue her, or she doesn't know what she's talking about.

It's always wise to seek a second opinion, and any good physician will encourage you to do so.

I suggest you go to an endocrinologist or a reproductive endocrinologist.
