I had a miscarriage on 1/22/07. My hcg levels have been checked every 2 weeks. They were 51, 2, and now 4. Why would it increase? The dr is wanting it to go to 0 before we can start trying to conceive. Please help. Thanks

Anything under a 5 is normal....I dont know why he would want it to be at 0 but from 0 to <5 is normal for non- pregnant women...Very sorry about your loss..Good Luck!

First let me tell you I am sorry I had 2 losses due to hcg levels, there is no other pain like the one you are experiencing. I know right now that you want more than anything to become pregnant in some way to " fix" your loss. But you need to wait at least 3 months inbetween pregnancies to ensure that your body is completly ready so you habe a better chance of a successful pregnancy. But to your question like with any other hormon they will change.

I'm not sure. That sounds really odd. You should ask your dr. I can't see how it would go up. My friend went thru this specifically and had to keep going back. I'm so sorry for you loss and I wish I knew the answer. It really doesn't seem to make sense.

It may just be the lab or your body still adjusting. Mine was all over the place after a miscarriage too.
