Well, that's a tough one.
You shouldn't bring issues from old relationships into new or current relationships unless you believe that it is absolutely pertinent. So, I would say that if you have been dating a while and she tells you she loves you, then yes. Otherwise, don't put a lot of stock in it.
She is probably not trying to hurt you, but you need to realize that love to her is probably just a fleeting feeling. Maybe, she is the type of person that best showcases love in actions and not words. Does she take care of you when you get sick? Is she the first person you call when something exciting happens? Is she completely relaxed and comfortable around you? Do you genuinely love her? Does she respect you? How does she treat you? Are you intimate sexually and otherwise, and does she care about you more than sexual fulfillment?
Ask yourself these questions, but don't be too fearful of her lack of genuine love. If she truly loves you, you should be able to read it in her actions and how she respects you, not just her words. I hope this helps.

I think that the context in which the "I love you" was said would make it easier to try to answer. I love my mother and tell her. Ditto for other family members and good friends. Was any of those five people friends and/or family? It sounds a bit odd to me, but without background information, knowing the people involved, I doubt I can help very much at all. How long have you been dating? Have you talked about a lasting relationship - made plans to be together?
Love isn't all verbal either. Does she consider your wants and needs? Does she cook a favorite meal to share? Laugh at your jokes (even the not-so-funny-ones)? Does she share your triumphs and sorrows? THAT is love.

Give her time to show you if she really does or not...Just because she has said it before doesnt mean that she doesnt love you...People grow and have different needs at different times...Time will be the only one to tell you for sure if she does or not...
And what are you talking about "BS" how can you say that lesbians cant fully love one another...thats bullshit...Im a lesbian and have never loved anyone more than I love my fiancee...But I guess since you must be one too you are talking from experience?..

IT sounds like your girlfriend has not really fell in love as yet, When she does fall in love she will really mean it and believe me you will know if she is really in love with you or not..

Tough to know, ask her frankly and directly if she truly loves you, and not just goofing around.

Lesbians can't fully love one another like normal heterosexual people can, so she probably loves you to the best of her lesbian abilities.
I wouldn't get all worked up about her saying I love you.
