I watched Naruto on T.V one time while flipping through the channels and that time I had no idea what anime was so I googled it and found the Japanese subed naruto and was addicted immediately. I know NONE of my friends watch naruto or any other anime and I feel I am hiding a part of myself from them. If they ever caught me watching it or talking about it I think I would be so embarrassed. I am just afraid of what to do. I mean if I told my friends they would think I’m totally insane, and don’t say something like “then maybe they’re not your real friends” because I know more than anything they are. It’s just a little weird because I know that before I liked naruto and other anime I made fun of my brothers for watching things like that, and if any of my friends would watch it I would think it’s crazy.
So what do you think about it? I feel totally weird but I love it, I look at pictures on devientart I read the manga I watch AMVs, and just about anything that has to do with Naruto.

jurassiczack - I did kind-of notice that there are some anime shows that were more romantic and some were more action type, but surprisingly I didn’t know what you just told me about the shonen and shojo. I found that really interesting, maybe I should watch some and casually suggest it to my friends. Can you or anyone suggest some shojo anime shows?
I personally love Naruto so much because there are few small un-noticed romance but they don’t let it take over the show and they show a lot of fights and what-not. Which makes it a little more embarrassing to me because if my friends found out I liked some girly-anime they wouldn’t react so surprised as they would to something like Naruto which you said is more geared toward boys.

Hmmm...I'm not really sure about your situation, because most of my friends either watch Naruto, or they don't care that I do watch it.
You should get one of your friends to watch anime (not just Naruto, but any anime). You see, Naruto is a shonen, which is geared toward boys a lot more (more action and violence, more physical comedy, etc.). However, it is not uncommon for a girl to like shonen instead of shojo (I know a lot that do!).
Shojo, on the other hand, is geared more toward girls, as they usually have more romantic situations and less action.
They may not like shonen and Naruto, but your friends might like shojo instead. There are some similarities between shonen and shojo, and you might find some to your advantage.

It is not weird. I went through the same thing with my friends and my cousins...i mean...once i saw naruto for the frist time i was glued to the t.v. Like when ever naruto will come on during the time my mom's shows i would seat right next to her then grab the remote and say that naruto's on and then change the channel. And when my cousins saw me watching it on the computer they would ask me whats was that weird stuff i was watching, and then i would start to feel embarrassed and then i would start to slowly explain it to.
Now when my friends see me reading the mangas to naruto they would just say that im addicted to it and i would tell the " OF COURSE I AM I LOVE NARUTO! SO MUCH I CAN'T HELP" and then a big smile would come up across my face and then i feel so embarassed i start to laugh( well i really don't shout soo srry for the caps)
anyways it seems that i have gotten my friends hooked on manga and naruto and they to have got me hooked on other manga and anime
and i even got my cousins hooked on it! it's soo fun! well just to let you know everything your doing is not werid b/c once you get hooked to anime it's hard to go back the way you where before ^_^
one more thing do you like yaoi? cause all my friendes go crazy about even though the won't tell me what it is >_<
so if you know plz tell

Hee... almost the same with me...except with Dnangel... I want to put some stuff on deviantart, and i almost have ALL the manga (missing 8 and 10... wah...) so i guess its normal. Visions of Daisuke flip through my brain...

What could be wrong? I mean, getting hooked on something is fun. (especially if it's anime) I am too. I started drawing it, and I got very obsessed. Like, toppyoushinai! I just want to know what the Comics & Animation page will be like once Naruto Shippuden shows more episodes.. XD!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE Naruto and funny, I have the same problem. My one group of friends accepts me for that, because they like it, too. But the group of friends, my best friends, I'm normally with don't watch that kind of stuff and would probably think I'm a geek. However, I continue to watch it and really, my friends probably wouldn't even know what it was if they saw it, but I don't talk to them about it.

i'm so sorry about your cousin! i'm gonna pray for him! Naruto question: who would win in na 3 way tournament: demon gaara, kyuubi naruto, or cursed sasuke? I hate to say it..yet i imagine that Kyuubi Naruto would win... And thanks for the love of anime!

No you're not weird.I like Naruto,but most of my friends think Naruto and other anime shows are just plain stupid.But I don't really care about what they think because it's about what I enjoy.Just be yourself and don't worry!

i like all anime since wa slittle like 4 at that time there use dto be sailor moon and stuff like that i pretty lked it at the time still do even if grown up i like all anime almost saw them all since the 1980's or something like that on the net & tv (not long ago i new i could see them on the net without downloading) well i told my friends even wen i was little and stlll liked it but they joked about it alil for like 5mins bt they didn't mean to offend me just to say something and i probly still i don't really care wat ppl think of me honstly because i don't like stuff other ppl do
