can someone help me out with counterstrike 1.6 lag?

Question

ok so when i join a game everything runs smoothly for a while.
but then i lag a little bit and then i start spiking lag crazy.
my normal lag when i join games is about 50-100
my comp specs are:

Windows XP
AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz
446MB RAM
Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE which is pretty decent
By the way i use the regular internet explorer 9.0

Actually the 6150LE is 2 generations behind the latest video cards, as well as nearly the slowest video card in that generation. Also, that video card borrows memory from your computer, in the end you end up with less system memory in the end (446, instead of 512) , which could cause the lag problem.

Also, don't download any files or use Bittorrent when playing Counter-Strike as this could easily cause lag spikes.
