I am starting a new instrument, but don't know which to choose from.

I love rock, so either one would be great.

I used to play the violin for 3 years so Im good with strings, but Im pretty good with the drums too.

Money isnt a problem and Im going to have private tutoring.

I need to know which you guys think I should do.

Also add additional info on the drum set and guitar facts you know, like I need to buy something with the guitar or something...

THX

i dont know, if possible try both. personally, i like the guitar, having just started playing it myself. drums would be fun, and very useful if you plan on playing with friends that can play guitar.
i think guitar might be the best bet because you can play that and people will recognize the song more than if you'r pounding the rhythm to a song away on the drums. no offense to drums, i think they'r awesome too, but i think you will get the most out of a guitar. but thats just my opinion.

(I think rock is amazing too)

I myself would go for the drums. I have always wanted to learn the drums. I had a set for a few months that were a friends and it was really fun to pound on them and learn to keep beats and stuff.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

Guitar is great.. Look up jazz guitar video's on you tube. Some great amateur and professional guitarists. Same with drummers on you tube.. Play what makes you happiest. As a kid, I wanted to play drums. .Dad said it was too loud.. I stuck with guitar and play all styles now. Love Jazz.. Good luck. Music is a great hobby.

I think drums are a biy easier to learn than guitar, plus they're super fun to play, well, both are fun to play, but almost everyone plays guitar nowadays, the world doesn't have enough drummers. But if you can then do both.

you want a actual acoustic set. a super area of gaining wisdom of to play and having your guy or woman type is figuring each and each of distinctive concepts of tuning and each and each of distinctive timbres of each and every guy or woman drum and cymbal. a great drummer could make one acoustic drum have many distinctive sounds, which will not be able to be achived by skill of an digital set. the two look into soundproofing or come across a custom area storage, storage room and so on. to hire out. good good fortune!

i've always wanted to play the drums... but my parents want me to learn guitar.. i say you should learn the guitar, it's gonna be i guess easy for you since you've experienced with strings already for quite a while.. you'll learn guitar easy, and then you can learn the drums! well good luck with choosing... whatever floats your boat. =)
