I'm going there this weekend.....I'm 18 and going alone, so I would rather not do the "family" stuff that I've done over and over, like the Alamo and stuff. I'm looking for something unique and different....

Come over to Hemisphere Plaza and go to the Institute of Texan Cultures. This place is run by the University of Texas@San Antonio and they have artifacts of all the different cultures who have lived in the area now known as Texas for the last 30,000 years. Or you can come down Alamo Street on the trolley to the Blue Star art gallery and see the different peices of art on display.

Take a hike on the River Walk, go up to the top of the Sky Needle (not sure about the name), dinner at Tony Roma's on the River Walk - great view & people watching, a movie (if one's playing) at the Imax in the River Walk mall.

If I was your parent, I would make sure you had someone going with you, as San Antonio is not the safest place to be by yourself..Reconsider and be wise...
