Since Iran claims to be searching for energy means only why don't they look at solar, wind, water type means of getting energy instead of pursuing what other parts of the world has already decided to be a horrbily bad (environment wise) source of Energy. Nuclear? Seriously.

I guess Iran does not pursue solar power because it wants to be a big, dark cloud over the Middle East.... and rule it all.

LOL

Iran isn't serious about peaceful nuclear energy. It just wants to get nuke capability so it can extort money and concessions from other countries. This is the same tactic North Korea used. They also cite "national pride" as a reason for pursuing nuclear capability. They want to show that they are a technologically advanced nation.

Well, if these countries want to show how advanced they are, why don't they concentrate their efforts on improving their social structure? Can their society only thrive at the expense of women who must remain subservient? I know a lot of people are going to say that the Koran dictates how they must live, but the truth is that, the more wealthy the Muslim, the less he believes in all that nonsense. In Jordan, all the wealthy women are wearing Donna Karan and Escada under their traditional garb. They cast off their ridiculous Muslim costumes as soon as they arrive at a party, which, by the way, often serves alcohol.

Plus , it will reduce the liklehood of another country coming in and nuking them because of fear they are developing nuclear weapons. These Iranians are playing a mighty dangerous game. The thing they don't seem to realize is the timeframe gets shorter and shorter before Israel or the US decides it's time we eliminated the threat from Iran. The next thing you know, Iran will be a pile of rubble, and the world will say, I told you so !

The reason Iran doesn't look for an alternate sourch for energy is because their real plan is to hava a nuclear bomb !

because the US and russia got them started on nuclear energy. you don't abandon a program that was started decades ago. i agree they should pursue other forms of energy, along with nuclear, but they do have a right to nuclear power. it is the benefit of signing the NPT. you don't hear much about the US violations of the NPT,strange.
as far as irans oil and not needing alternate energy,at one time the US thought we had enough oil to not worry about the future. iran did not threaten israel, israel has threatened to use nukes on neighbors as far back as 1973. research the last time iran invaded/attacked anyone. defense don't count.

SSHHHHH...before those wack jobs start engineering a huge solar powered "laser" that can boil the infidels inside their skin....jeez you're giving them all the good ideas

But no seriously, they want to help power the world with a cleaner energy source and od their part to help out. I mean cmon why else. Those cuddly ol' jihadist...

Iran doesn't need nuclear energy. It only wants uranium to build nuclear bombs.

Iran has the second largest supply of natural gas in the world. It has enough natural gas to power the country for hundreds of years.

Are you kidding? Iran is so rich in oil it isn't even funny! Why would they be looking for another source of energy in the first place? They're not PERIOD.
