I told my friend to listen to my belly right, and then sshe tells me she can hear kind of like a heart beat but slower then mine and there is a possibility of me being pregnant. I havent had a regular period since november 29th, 2006 and i've just had spotings on the fifth that lasted for 8 days. I'm usually really heavy is it possible to feel the heart beat .. ?

It's possible, but you wouldn't be able to hear the baby's heart beat this early by just listening to the belly. And the baby's heartbeat would be faster, not slower, than yours. If you suspect you are pregnant then you need to find out for sure so you can start getting proper pre-natal care from a Doctor. Good Luck.

You can't ever hear the babies heartbeat with the naked ear while your pregnant. Plus, a baby's heartbeat, while in utero, is way faster than a normal heartbeat. If you think you're pregnant than get a home pregnancy test. They are pretty accurate. If it's negative, your cycle may just be changing. I used to have heavy and long periods when I was younger and they changed and now they are 2-3 days and pretty light. If it is positive, get in for prenatal care as soon as possible. Good luck.

I don't think you can feel the heart beat but you could hear it. The best thing to do would be to go to the doctors. It's not good to put it off if you have the feeling of being pregnant. I did and then almost died from it. I ended up having a tubal pregnancy. GO TO THE DOCTORS.

NO..you cannot hear a babys heartbeat thru your belly that way...the only way is to use a machine called a doppler or when you have a sonogram done....after 10 weeks of pregnancy the Dr. will check the babys heart beat with the doppler when you go in for prenatal visits....other than that you cannot feel it or hear it....You have different pulse points in your body and your belly is one of them..what she heard was your pulse...Good Luck!

What your friend heard was YOUR heartbeat, not a babies. But since it has been so long you should take a test or go to your doctor becaquse if you are pregnant, spotting for 8 days is not a good sign. They need to check and make sure everything is ok.

I would go to the Doctor since it has been almost 3 months since your last period. It is a good possiblity you are pregnant.

Absolutely not possible. If you are pregnant, the baby is super tiny. Even at nine months pregnant the doctor still has to use his stethascope. Crap, I know I spelled that wrong! Take a pregnancy test.

It is probably your heart beat u are feeling. It is very unlikely that if u were pregnant u could hear the babies heart beat and if u were pregnant the heart beat would be faster than yours. What your friend probably heard was your heart beat through your abdominal aortic vessel.

well if your friend can hear a heart beat than you should be able to take a test and get a positive reading make an apt asap!! good luck you need to see a docotor just in case!!

i think u really need to go to the doctor. they can do an ultrasound. it sounds like u may be pregnant. i dont think that u can hear the heart beat just like that. you can actually hear your own heart beat in your belly.
