I am 13. Is that too young to start?

Some girls shave..... others Nair (like me!!) Bikini Nair is soooo much better than shaving.... shaving causes razor burn, red bumps, irritation and dryness. Nair is great for down their and lasts twice as long as shaving..... You may not be to old to shave.... just shave with care cuz getting nicked down there isn't fun....

This is a matter of personal preference. The skin in that area is especially sensitive and a lot of women who shave will get a mild skin reaction causing little bumps. They should settle down in a few days and will decrease each time you shave - but it's not particuarly comfortable or attractive.

Some women wax - which can be very painful - and once again lead to bumps.

Some just trim. Works well and there's no bumps.

The other thing to consider is that the area is delicate, and sensitive. When you shave a lot - you may end up making that area less sensitive. Which isn't a good thing.

You are pretty young to worry about this sort of thing. Just think how hard it can be to shave around your knees. Then think how hard it's going to be shaving around really sensitve areas.

Keep it simple and don't be self conscious. All women have hair there. So do men. Good hygeine and self care is much more important then a hairless body.

If the hair bothers you, you could trim it shorter. Shaving can be tricky. If you decide to, make sure you use a very new razor, and lots of soap/shaving cream, and be very careful. It's a bad place to get razor burn!

When it grows back, the stubble can be itchy, and scratching can make it sore. You will probably have to maintain it by shaving often.

Trimming doesn't lead to such problems, so it might be a good way to start.

If you're just worried about hair sticking out from a bathing suit, for example, trimming will fix this problem too, or you could just shave the edges and avoid the middle.

If you're worried that someone you want to see you naked won't like your hair, keep in mind that it's totally up to you what you do with your body. If they pressure you to shave, they're being shallow, and should accept you the way you are.

Also, there are varying opinions on whether girls should shave their private area or not. It's all personal opinion. Whatever you think looks and feels the best is fine.

Your question was... Are girls SUPPOSED to shave their private area? My immediate raction would be no. It's not done because someone is supposed to. Most who do, do it because their man likes it that way. So, to you, I would say it is way too early in life to do something so uncomfortable and irritating to your sensitive private area. Be comfy. Wax if you need to for a bathing suit. But, leave the rest alone. You can shave that hair for days and never get it all - it grows even on the inside and back to your rear.

That's a personal decision depending on your taste. I would recommend you wait cause once you start you should keep it up. And sometimes it might cause a rash and itch when the hair grows back. And if you think you have to or want to. Start only by doing the outside area and try it if it doesn't bother you. Also you should be careful and use a really good shaver because you can cut yourself and down there is not the ideal place. If you can wait i think you should.

It is really a personal choice. I do it because I hate the thought of a jungle down there. It itches a lot the first few times it starts to grow back in, but it doesn't itch after that. If you do it make sure to shave in the direction of the hair, not against it. Otherwise youll get itchy red bumps.

I don't think thats too young necesarily to shave it as long as you aren't having sex. Most guys that I know definitley prefer it shaved, but It isn't like they expect you to.

It is a personal choice. I think your a little young though. But it really depends on you... like what your preference is. Nobody can or can't tell you it's right or it's wrong. It is your choice. So whatever floats your boat young one.

i wouldnt recomend it because first of all when they start growing you got to make note that those hairs are thicker so your undies get stuck with teh fabrc and its anoying like hell.. i wouldnt recomend it and also remember that shavcing makes hairs thicker... waxing is the best though it might hurt more....
