Ok, I've been reading up on it and all I found was that they are played by the same person .. but I grew up believing (look at me, I'm acting as if this is real) that Mr. Darling was the grown up Captain Hook b-cuz:
1) Hook was banned from Neverland .. and therefore he gew up
2) At the end Mr Darling is shocked to see the ship (in the shape of the clouds) and says that he has seen that ship before a long time ago when he was very young.
Any thoughts on this?

Traditionally. I know that they are always played by the same person. This is meant to convey the basic metaphor of the story, meaning the idea of staying young and not growing up. The character of Mr. Darling is usually shown to be trying to pull his children's head out of the clouds, wanting them to grow up and give up on childish thoughts and dreams; the traditional buttoned down stern father. By using the same actor in both parts the story is left up to you; is it all only taking place in their imaginations, with the role of the evil, fun-crushing pirate taken on by the adult role model? Or is it really happening? It's left up to the beholder to decide. Hope this helped!

That doesn't seem possible, because when Peter Pan first takes Wendy to Neverland, that would imply that Mr. Darling was already old because he is her father, therefore he would not be in Neverland when Wendy arrives....which is obviously not true.

When Mr. Darling sees the ship, it might be alluding to the fact that he too has experienced the same things as Wendy.

But that's just me....
