For whatever reason he advocates global warming is his choice. Nevertheless, global warming IS a serious issue, is we don't begin to take care of our environment now, 30 years from now, the world is going to be a different place as far as the environment is concerned. Gore resisted all those other people trying to make it seem as if the environmental problems weren't a big deal. The truth is it's all about money. If we stop using gasoline in our cars oil companies are going to lose sales and obviously they don't want that. Many oil companies send representatives to meet with the President who manage to convince Bush that this isn't really happening, that ozone layer depletion is a crock. But the thing is, saving the environment is possible if we try. Some years ago in California, congress passed a law stating that at lease 10% of cars sold in California had to be electrical. An you know what, they did come out with a car run by electricity, but for "unknown reasons" the law was repealed and they destroyed all electrical cars. Now I wonder why that is. Wanna take a guess? Yeah, it's money. Oil companies did not want to conform and change their standards even for the benefit of the environment. The biggest problem is that oil is a non-renewable substance and it takes years to produce even a barrel of it. The more we suck up oil from the ground it will never returne, it cannot be recycled by any method. Pretty soon the worlds supply of oil will deplete so much that years later you will probably be able to see the last few bits of oil left on earth. I'm not sure about how anyone else feels about this, but to me, this is a huge problem that needs to be fixed now. The Inconvienent Truth is a film almost everyone should see regardless of what they think of Gore this is what's happening now and will worsen if we don't begin now to straighten up the situation. And yes, this is from my environmentalistic point of view. Those who want to put this on Gore are deflecting the issue trying to bounce it somewhere else. It has nothing to do with Gore, people, he's only informing us on something he feels passionate about for those who continue to deny the problem.

I heard about this. Some organization had stated this.
If this is correct, he is indeed a hypocrite. Does he need that big of a house to live in? Why is his electric and gas bill 20 times as much although we know that 20 extra people are not living there?
This, I can only say can be true if he thinks he is above everyone else when living his life style. Why is he not using solar power, thermo heating for his home?
Al Gore should practices what he preaches. You have to remember this was the same guy who says he invented the Internet. Makes you wonder, huh?

Doesn't he know there's nothing one can do to stop global
warming (if there is such a thing)?? And it's for sure, America
alone would not even phase such an adventure....it would take
the whole world to make a dent in the problem. By the time he
and others like him, spend tons of money and waste time on
global warming, we'll probably be having global cooling. This
February felt like it allready. And, I wouldn't go along with those
stupid Hollywoodites anyway....they already tried to ruin the
country with their out-of-line drug problems, sex problems,
family problems, and movies full of murder, murder, murder.

Well, Gore is at least not practicing what he preaches.
He appears to be a "you guys save the planet - I plan to live well".
He lives in a "glass" house & there are lots of people willing to throw the stones at his house. An Academy Award for a film on saving the world put him in the spotlight & if he does not follow his own words then yes, he is lying.

He uses energy from the TVA which is from hydro plants and winds sources, and because they are less efficient they cost much more money than say a coal plant. This is called "green energy" so it does not pollute. You should look into things before you start making claims like this. And Gore is currently installing solar panels into is house, which do not pollute ( i believe). This "news" of Gore is just a right wing attack to try and put the rising Gore popularity in check.

How was he lying? Have you done a proportionality study to determine whether he would use more than an average American were he to live in the same sized house as an average American?
He may be living very environmentally consciously for the sized house he has.
Perhaps the better question would be why men who avoided active service command soldiers into battle over a lie...
