I often wondered why they don't make the whole plane out of those black boxes as it seems to me the only thing that survives a plane crash!!!

Generally, they are made with layers of stainless steel and titanium. Contact your local foundry.
pinktoni: The reason the whole plane isn't made out of them, is that it would be too heavy to take off the ground.
