Its a carbuerated engine. I was at a stop sign and apparently reved the bike to high and I blew a rod. The bike still runs but very loud knocking noise, local mechanic said it was blown rod. Is it better to replace all the rods, rather then a new engine.... PLEASE HELP..... if anyone interested in purchasing this i can get pictures. It's located in long island NY, many extra's, custom paint.

If it still runs, it's probably the rod bearing, not the rod itself.
Either way, = complete teardown & inspection, new bearings, possibly machine the crank....

Don't run it, you WILL cause more damage.

IF your mechanic has correctly diagnosed a bad con rod the only thing you can do is pull the engine and start taking it apart to assess the damage, YES it is a major project. The crank journals will have to be inspected for damage and checked for size. Worst case scenario, engine case may be damaged along with needing a new crankshaft and at least one new rod. If you get into it that far you'ld probably be better off finding a used engine IF the rest of the bike is in good shape.

You really only have two viable options.

1)Find a crashed bike and buy it. Use that engine to replace your engine.

2)Take your bike apart and sell the pieces on ebay. Use that money to buy a new bike.

Repairing the engine will cost more money than the bike is worth. Consider this an expensive lesson in why you shouldn't rev the heck out of your engine at red lights.
