A Bladderwort is a type of Carnivorous Plant. The scientific name for them is Utricularia, or simply Utric by CP enthusiasts. There are basically two types of Bladderwort. Aquatic and Terrestrial. The bladderwort is usually grown for it's flowers because the trap is microscopic. These plants can be found all over the world and can be invasive. I currently grow three terrestrial types. U. livida, which is tropical, U. sandersonii, also tropical, but produces flowers that resemble the faces of angry little bunny rabbits, and U. cornuta, which is a U.S. native and is grown outside in an artificial bog. The aquatic types are often grown in decorative water features to keep down mosquito larvae.
