You need to be on the pill for a month or so for it to fully work...... so use protection during the month you are waiting for your BC to kick in.... I know they say BC isnt 100% effective but if you use it right... it will prevent pregnancies.....also.... you may want to use protection when you are taking any prescribed meds such as anti-biotics and pain killers, they may alter the BC and cause an unwanted pregnancy...

Good Luck!

To ensure you don't get pregnant, keep using condoms as well as your birth control pill...
Here's the thing: There is still a 1% chance that you can get pregnant while on the pill.
Condoms, there is a chance it could break and you could become pregnant.

You're best bet if you're having sex and worried about getting pregnant is to use both...that way you're double safe...and always better to be safe than sorry, especially at your age!

It is fine to not use protection if you are each others firsts but just remember that the pill is only 99% affective and that 1% shows its head quite alot. Enjoy but be cautious

I would wait, better safe than sorry. I stopped using condoms once my boyfriend and I got married (my husband now) but at least you are making good decisions. So keep up the good work... but yes I would still use the glove cause nothing is 100%.

Gurl don't never get to the point that you think you can stop usin' protection....I kno that's your boyfriend and everything but I wouldn't never stop using protection unless I was married and knew he would be really ready to help wit the responsibility if I do get pregnant...

Many women find out that their boyfriend has had a sketchy history when they catch something. (Example: A lady I know got HIV because her husband had sex with a woman 5 years earlier that had it but he did not know. Before they met). Also, are you 1000% sure that he will NEVER cheat on you?????
