No..everything "free" turned out to be a gimmick. Consider a "free" cellphone. Are you so naive to think that you are actually not paying for that phone? There is an exception to that, however! Open source software, and freeware (but not shareware) is written by the entire world and shared with the world. Some examples of free software (with no catches) that I have actually used are:
www.kubuntu.org (a free Linux Operating system that is superior to Windows!)
www.majorgeeks.com (has lots of free software, such as AVG antivirus, Lexan Scrub XP)
www.openoffice.org (an "office" type program, similar to Microsoft Office, but free
All of the above are highly recommended!
