my body works fine with just one ovary. Has for many decades, and I had a baby with just one ovary.
When you are married....you can try to conceive by taking your temp every morning. the slightest rise in your temp means you are ovulating.

Don't try the parent thing alone- it is horribly difficult. If your BF wants a baby- tell him to marry you first. He can prove his true committment to a child by loving on the babies mom first.

This is my advice: if you really want to have a child and your doctor tells you that you cannot, go see another doctor. If he says no, don't worry about it, keep trying, but stop worrying. My best friend was born one year after his parents adopted his older sister because she "couldn't have babies". Try to be positive and upbeat, have faith and lower your stress level. I don't know if you have PCOS, but it sounds like it. Exercise, it will lower your stress level A, and B, it will increase your fitness, both of which will help. I say being more fit will help, not because that is proven, but recently published articles in scientific journals have shown there is a strong correlation with metabolic syndrome and PCOS. Smile, relax, and don't let your doctor tell you it's not possible. The same exact thing happened to my Cousin and his wife, the doctor said no for four yeas. Then a year after they stopped going to him, wala, a baby. They have three now.

When you say that you are trying to conceive, what do you mean? You mention that you are not having intercourse... so it will be very difficult for you to conceive... unless you are doing ivf?

If you want children, but intercourse is painful -- you may want to look into adoption. I'm not sure whether adopting with a boyfriend is a terrific idea (or whether you would be approved) -- but it is another option.
