My daughters have had the same in their house--we investigated and came up with two answers;
there is a condition called sleep paralysis this allows a person to be in a state where they feel they cannot move and someone is near them.
Neither of the girls bought that one!
We then found that the old girl who pre owned the house was very possessive of the house so one night when they both had a visitation the youngest asked her pleasantly to go away as it was no longer her house. She told her to go in peace etc. The elder daughter used more colourful language with the same meaning.
No more visits so far, so fingers crossed. Ask your grandaughter to go into the room in the day time and tell the entity to leave. It may take a few requests but it should work.
Oh the other thing they both did was to visit our local Angel store and buy a little crystal angel to sit on the bed. I reckon that is called belt and braces.!!

Have you thought of having the house blessed? It sounds as if your house may be occupied by more than the people in it. It's usually a good idea to have a house blessed whenever it's moved into by someone new.

For now I would recommend not sleeping in the back bedroom. Turn it into a well lighted office or sewing room.

PS It's not hard to bless a place yourself. Purchase a holy candle, say a prayer over a small bowl of water (some people use olive oil), and place a crucifix at the entrances of the house. After praying over the water/oil walk around the house and draw a cross in the windowsills and door ways of your home, asking for blessings on your home while you do. I would then burn your holy candle whenever people are home. Please let me know how this turns out. I wish you the best of luck.

Get her to go see a medium or have one visit her house without stating anything about what she has been experiencing. She may well have a spirit in her house. You say its an old house so it could very well be. If she only experiences it in that room and if she doesn't like it tell her to stay out of the room for a while until some light can be shed on the situation. That my friend is what i would do and i am a believer in the spirit world. good luck. xx

It's very difficult to explain things you experience and feel and cannot prove beyond describing it. I know it sounds sillly, but there are such things as poltergeists. I would say that her initial reaction of not feeling comfortable in that room had to do with the fact that she could sense a presence there. Now, that presence is causing her harm. I have shared a similar experience. I dealt with it by moving away, but not before I had someone else with me to experience the same thing. Perhaps you should try to spend a couple nights in that room yourself and see what's up. If nothing happens, then you know that you will have to get her out of the house. That's really sad... I hope you find an answer.

I know that such a thing is true. Only you probably think it's a ghost, well it sort of is. Mostlikley whoever died there had a spirit (not their own) attached to them. When they died the spirit (demon) stayed in the home. Remember in the spirit world a day is as a thousand yrs and a thousand yrs is as a day so this spirit could have been there for 50 yrs or so it wouldn't leave out of boardom. You nead to anoint the doors and windows in the name of Jesus and tell what ever is not of God it must leave because that house is protected by the blood of life. Well good luck

I have a theory, it could be that she is experiencing anxiety attacks, poss bcoz she has moved out on her own/is in a new place etc. I had these for years, I would wake up and not be able to move, breathe properly and some of the dreams were really scary just prior to waking. Once I found out it was anxiety attacks I suffered with them less as I wasn't so worried about falling asleep.

Your grandaughter should have the house blessed or she could just put a bit of water in a cup in each room and make the sign of the cross over them saying in the name of the father, son and holy spirit Amen. also things like Lemon scents help to setle rooms aswell. Good luck.

Very difficult.
It could be a nasty dream.

No matter what 'it' is your granddaughter is disturbed by the events.

It might be worth researching the history of the house, neighbours may know if any past 'events' took place. This may be very reassuring when your granddaughter discovers there weren't any.

If the feelings persist the Lord's prayer is a very good defence against any 'evil' she may sense. You do not have to believe in God to seek God's protection.

In case you don't know it here it is.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil,
for thine is the Kingdom the Power and the Glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.

when we moved into our 100 year old house I felt uneasy in it also. unexplainable things happened. after five years of being scared of my house I had a minister come over and bless it. I haven't had any problems since. when I tell people about this they look at me like I'm a lunatic, but until it happens to you, you just don't understand. hope this helps...good luck!!
