preston North End had an artificial pitch.. but for certain City never did. there pitch has alasy been one tof the best using natural turf (unless you include thesection that psycho wears out in the so called technical area)

I believe that QPR's Loftus Road Stadium was the first uk ground with an "artificial pitch"....
