Are you talking about world history or U.S. history?

In world history, you might want to look at a leader of a country, such as Queen Elizabeth I of England. She defeated her sister and her cousin in a struggle for the throne and established the Church of England as the dominant, official religion in that country. She encouraged William Shakespeare to write.

Isabel I of Spain unified the country and encouraged the exploration that led to the discovery of America.

Catherine the Great of Russia would be interesting.

Marie Curie was an important scientist who won two Nobel Prizes for her work.

Florenece Nightingale started nursing.

Hatshepsut was the only female Pharaoh of Egypt.

In U.S. history, I suggest you find out about Harriet Tubman. She was a slave who escaped, but then made a number of trips back South to help other slaves escape.

Eleanor Roosevelt was not only the wife of FDR but a remarkable woman in her own right. She played an important role in the early days of the United Nations.

Another fascinating lady, Benair Bhutto was the Prime Minister of a Muslim country, Pakistan (1988). She was educated at Harvard and Oxford. She must be remarkable to have been able to do that. Plus she was/is gorgeous.

There is also Indira Ghandi (1965) first female Prime Minister of India. They called her "Mother Ghandi." And she was Italian.
