Hello,

I've been hearing a lot of comments for macs like: They are wonderful for designing, they are taking ove PCs in the next decade, they are so fantastic on doing whatever tasks...

But I know for sure that there must be some disadvantages associate with Macs, too. Will someone tell me something on that "dark part" ? Thank you.

One MAJOR negative is that not all software is compatable with Macs. This is a huge problem as it not only affects different programs you might want to install, but different online tools such as email programs, viewers, online games and on and on. But you will never find any program that a PC won't run! And also years ago even though certain programs, luck Photoshop, have versions for PC and Mac, back then the Mac versions did more. Now they are identical.

A good friend of mine has a Mac (he does graphics) and I can't count how many times I've had to open and print files for him. And he runs all the conversion programs too.

So I am not willing to gain some rumored stability and lose knowing my computer will run everything I want it too. Not to mention Macs don't fully open all mails from folks on PC's etc. I consider these things big disadvantages. Plus if you want to download things online to check out, the vast majority are PC only.

Plus the last biggie...there are lot's more choices with PC's in terms of buying compatable parts and devices. You are stuck with Mac stuff for a mac. I find much better pricing when there is competition. I just see far more advantages in a PC vs a MAC.

Honestly, the only disadvantage that i have come across is people with PC's not being able to open some of the files i create, while i can open 99% of the files they do. oh, and alot of gaming companies don't make Mac versions of games, but i don't really care about that.

thats really all that comes to mind, i've had a very lovely Mac experience for the past 5 years.

Macs are slow computers in my terms. My friend has a new mac and it still takes him a while to open internet explorer. I have always stuck to PCs and I have never had a problem with them. People say that macs can not get viruses but that is a lie. The reason is that not a lot of people have macs so people dont bother to create viruses.
