If it was Billy Meredith, Here are some facts you might or might
not know about him. He came to Manchester United from Manchester City in May 1906, but due to the fact he had been in trouble, something about bribery concerning other football players, he was banned from playing so he could not make his debut until January 1st 1907, when he played he always had a toothpick in his mouth, he had started with chewing tobacco, but the ladies that washed the kit, refused to wash his as it was covered with spittle, so he changed to a toothpick. In his career with Football he had played 390 Games of Football and Scored 150 goals for Manchester City, and won 1 F.A.Cup. And 335 games of Football and Scored 36 Goals for Manchester United, and won 2 Football League championships, 1 F.A.Cup & 2 F.A.Charity Shields. He returned to Manchester City in 1921 where he stayed till he was 49 years & 245 days old when he played in the Semi finals of the F.A.Cup against Newcastle United. When he died in 1958 he was buried in a unmarked grave, then Manchester United, Manchester City, The Professional Footballers Association & The Welsh F.A, said they would pay for a Headstone and for the upkeep of the Grave. He is also honoured in the Hall of Fame at the City of Manchester Stadium.
