WHY Do PEOPLE ABUSE THEIR ANIMALS?

Why do people abuse their animals? Is there a reason? I watch some shows about it like Animal Cops Houstan and I will cry! People That DO That Should Go To hell.

My uncle [ Not By Blood!!!] Would kick his dogs cage when she was in it, and you could see the dent in the cage. Luckily he went to jail, and my aunt remarried.

I was just talkin bout this with my parents last night. And its just despicable, ppl who hurt animals do it cause its just some kind of power trip I guess. They can hurt something thats smaller or less intelligent than them and it makes them feel like a god or something. I think they should be punished in the same way they hurt the animal, starved, beaten, locked in a crate or whatever. Monsters. A**holes, I could go on and on

The ones who do it have not developed a sense of empathy or sympathy for living creatures - let alone a sense of responsibility to them. They are probably incapable of feeling any kind of real sympathy or empathy for humans, either. You have to wonder how they were brought up, or what happened to make them this way.

Some people are mentally ill, and *once in awhile,* I think they just don't know better.

I agree, it's a terrible thing to see, and I would imagine it's heartbreaking to deal with it first hand. I have so much respect for the people who do go into these situations and do whatever it takes to get the animal out and get it what it needs.

You should ask this question in psychology, too. There has been a connection between animal abusers and sociopaths. If your child harms an animal, you must take this seriously and get them help. It's not always that though; some of it is just sheer laziness, and alot of times people get a pet (or a child) without researching first to find out how much work they are going to be. Then they get frustrated when they realize they don't take care of themselves. Stupid, huh?!

Many people think of animals as just posessions.Funny
people that abuse animals are more likely todo the sme to children.Those shows make me cry also.I don't know their destination eternally but I'm sure that God whom
created the animal must hurt to see abuse.

They're bullies and sick in the head. Must pick on somebody who they can dominate with fear and pain. Maybe they grew up abused themselves and are too confused to know it's wrong.
My friend asked me this same question a couple of years ago. I answered sweety if we could understand it we would be sick too.
Yes I hope Karma in whatever form it chooses to take will rise up and bite animal abusers, Child molesters people who beat their significant other or children directly in the ***!

I watch that show to. I dont get it myself, i am a big animal lover. An to watch a poor animal suffer like that in your own care is just ridiculous. I cant see how ppl can have no heart at all

They have serious emotional issues, they have a psychiatric illness, they are on drugs, or they are alcoholic. These are the main categories as to why they do stupid things like hurting their animals.

I hate people that do that.. if you don't want your animal give it away don't abuse the poor things. Its better to give your animal to someone who wants it and that will take care of it then hurt it right?

Because they are cowardly people who pick on people or things that are unable to defend themselves. I agree, a lot of people should not own animals.
