I'm looking at classes for next term and I'm considering taking 4 history classes back to back (many are only offered in the Spring).

How many of you take many classes from the same subject area (i.e. business, writing, math, whatever). Did you regret it? General feelings?

I am a history major so I do enjoy history...I'm just not so sure about 4 classes. Especially since two of them are 400 level...hmmm....

I'm taking two hst classes this term and was ok.

The 4 I was thinking about next term are:

HST of the US (about 1900-current)
Western Civ (1790-now)
HST of Sexuality
HST of European Women (1400-1800)

Without a doubt I have to take the western civ and us. The last two are only offered in the spring and I'm already missing out on hst of the holocaust.

During two semesters of college, I took 3 math classes (I was a math major) at once. It was definitely tough, but I survived with my GPA intact. I wouldn't recommend taking two closely related classes, though. For example, (keep in mind, I hate history so these examples may make no sense whatsoever) I wouldn't take American Civil War and America in the 1800's at the same time. It may seem like a good idea, but it would be hard to keep straight what was being taught in what class.

Good luck!

That's great that you have a passion for history, however, too many at the same time may be kinda confusing. Names, dates, eras and such may get sorta skewed, know what I mean. You don't want to get so overwhelmed by all of it and then get so frustrated and stressed out. How about taking two history courses and then two other main courses needed for your degree such as a general elective or another academic course.
