Would you say whose 20 bucks is this, hand it to an employee in case anyone claimed it or just put it in your pocket and leave?

I would say, "Oh thank goodness I found it", put it in my pocket and leave.

If it was in a public place I would probably turn it in. But now thinking about it, what I would do is have them make an announcement if anyone lost something significant in the store please come to customer service and I would wait and see. Or I would give the customer service my phone number in case someone asks for it. But otherwise its probably not smart to just hand to an employee, their intentions might not be so great.

If I'm walking down the street and see twenty bucks, different story. I'd stand there for a second or two and look around to see if it was just dropped but if not there is no chance of anyone reclaiming so i'd probably keep. I'm a moral person though so I think I would be compelled to donate at least something to someone who needed it.

Just put it in my pocket. Who's to say that the employee you just handed it to won't do the same thing with it and you just lost 20 bucks.

I would put it in an envelope and put it in a safe place, and notify the manager. The person who lost it might return and ask if it was found. However, if the person did not return I would probably talk to the manager as to what the best course of action should be.

If I couldn't find whose $20 it was, I'd keep it and give it to charity. Lots of people down on their luck that need the $20 more than I do.

I would try to find the owner for a little bit but a lot of people lie about those kind of things so i would put it into my savings account if i could not find the owner

If I saw somebody drop it, I'd definitely yell excuse me sir/ma'am and return it. I've done that before and they were very grateful. But if it was on the floor of the supermarket or a parking lot or sidewalk, I'd think it was my lucky day.

well it matters because if i saw someone drop it or heard of someone dropping it i would give it back/to them

but if i just randomly saw the 20 bucks and was by myself and no one else was there i would pocket it because if i didn't the next person would..

I found a $210 winning parlay ticket on the ground, but I was the ONLY person in the store, so I kept it...

you mean on the ground in a store? i'd yell 'anyone drop some money?' but not say 'who dropped a 20?'
or if it was outside....i'd just slip it into my pocket
