If you can let it go then do so,something my father said always sticks with me here "a tough person will try to fight a strong one will walk away"

If you can walk away and let it go then congratulations it shows great strength and maturity.
However it means you will be hurt or troubled later then make a stand for yourself. It's up to you,no-one can tell you when to let something go because it depends on what you can personally stand that matters. If it's something meaningless then let it go if it's something that will stay with you for years to come then you should address the issue at once.

I'd have to say if it's going to hurt you in the long-run, then stand up for yourself! Not necessarily resort to violence or physical fighting, but get your point across to them in such a way that you know what you are doing is right for that situation. Fighting always leads to grudges and dwelling. Not to mention, that it clouds your mentality, and emotions. I just had this same conversation with a friend of mine who is a fighter and thinks that by physically fighting is proving yourself. No chance! In my opinion, it only makes you look like a person who can't control their anger and feels they need to let it out by hurting another person. So, if it's something small and won't affect you for the rest of your life, then LET IT GO and MOVE ONE with your life! You only have one to live right?!

Never engage unless someone has layed a hand on you first. Its always the more mature, adult, responsible thing to walk away..until someone hits you first..then stand up for yourself.

i always think to myself 'what will i regret more, making a mistake, or missing the oppertunity'
you can learn from your mistakes, you can drive yourself crazy with the what ifs missed oppertunities birth. its a delicate balance, but the weight falls within, so if you know its gunna be one of those things where if you live to 60 your still going to wonder what if when i should have instead, do it now, know better later on.
