i saw on CNN how black kids are discriminated against by other black kids if they dont speak ebonics or if they study hard and wear pants that fit.and to my amazement,the CNN reporter almost sounded like it was somehow white peoples fault this is happening.all i hear is how white people oppress blacks but all i SEE is lazy blacks oppressing themselves.my question is,WHEN WILL BLKS DROP THE CRUTCH AND STAND ON THEIR OWN TWO FEET?

lol tabasco,my fiance is half mexican half guatemalan.shes born in the USA and im Canadian.i love her too,and her hard working family.her friends also called her "whitewashed" because she didnt talk that ghetto slang.she has a good carreer in the hotel industry and is planning on studying business.im hoping our children inherit her intelligence,not mine.but all that has nothing to do with my question.if she had spent her high school days standing on a corner smoking cigs and drawing eyebrows on her face with sharpies,she wouldnt be where she is today.she wouldnt have got her first big break if she had walked into her job interveiw and said,"sup holmes".and if she'd chosen that path,she'd probly be standing around blaming white people too.

All I can say is that I'm not lazy or sitting blaming "the White man". Black people are humans (if you didn't know that) that have flaws just like everyone else. If the "White race" was perfect then there wouldn't have historically been so many problems. Every INDIVIDUAL has their own uniqueness that makes them special and different from everyone else. Stop focusing on the color of someones skin, and act for once like a mature, compassionate and caring person. OH and perhaps some anger management and psychotherapy would do some good to your mental health issues.

As far as the black kids discriminating against other black kids goes, I think it's an identity issue. By acting white, they think that they are rejecting their own culture (in which they believe one should have pride). I hear about how whites are oppressive all the time, too, even in college. I like to be more realistic about this. The fact is, no one is defined by his/her race. There were whites that took part in the Underground Railroad, and later, the Civil Rights Movement. As much as people would like to categorize us the way some have categorized blacks (wrongly), it can't be done.

To agree with you and pi*s off my race, or disagree and call you a racist, even when I see and agree with your point?... hmmm.. I hear it all of the time that I'm white washed, I work in a library, I'm in college, refuse to speak in "ebonics", denounce the notion of Affirmative Action and welfare.... these criticisms get to me sometimes, because I'm not trying to be "white" I'm trying as hard as he*l to get where I want to be, and have fought like he*l to get where I am. I don't stand around blaming anything on the white race waiting for a hand out, the only thing I want from any white is alimony from my soon to be ex husband and the $2,000 he owes me for a plane ticket... It shames me that people think so lowly of my race, not all blacks are lazy do-nothings. Why is an entire race judged by its most negative members?

I'm white. I remember getting picked on for studying hard and doing my homework by the white kids in my class.

Remember the news is just trying to make a story... and they just succeeded again.

My fiance is a black girl. She doesn't measure up so well on a 'traditional white value scale' but she is SUCH a nice person, I am going to marry the girl.

Settle for being a cracka, if you are happy to limit your self-development and understanding, but I think you have a whole lot more years ahead of you.. why not use some of them to learn something about the people you share this planet with???? Just a thought.

I think that majority of us are making that stand. I was mocked because I study hard and spoke properly. All I told them is that I was educated and my mom and dad did not like when we talked like we were some thugs on the street, so we did not.

white people dont even have any offensive derogatory terms in which to refer to them. Cracker? Honkey? Lame. If a black person was to be called a n!gger, or a Chinese person directly referred to as a *****, you would either be shot, or karate chopped on the spot. Another thing about white people is that they are scared. If you dont believe me, ring the doorbell of any random house at 2:30 in the morning. You have no need to fear the bat, because he will not swing on you, nor will he even attempt to stop you from walking in and stealing his VCR. To emphasize my point, take the Bird Flu for instance. A few chickens in Texas come down with a cough, and the entire European Union, which consists of, and is ran by white people, bans the import of chicken from the United States. Who gives a ****? Mental institutions are painted white and mental institutions suck. Snow is white and it sucks.
