OMG!!! YES!!! i think about it all the time.
i even have this theory about how if man hadn't evolved from apes. or eve hadn't eaten the apple (depending on whatever you believe) then we would have all the paraphernalia about global warming, wars, oppression of women, cancer, torture of animals, torture of humans. THINK ABOUT IT. WHEN WE CAME ALONG. ALL THE PROBLEMS STARTED.
i have yet to name my theory.
i think i shall call it "humans: we suck"
and for all those people up there who think that we redeem ourselves by showing compassion and etc. its a load of BS, in my opinion. its the animals nature to do what they do. we might show compassion but we do it for our own benefit. some people who are truly compassionate are good but it doesn't redeem the whole specie. animals act that way because they dont know any better. we act that way bc we are selfish and inconsiderate of others. MAN (in general, as in MANKIND) will do anything to make himself comfortable.
thats how this global warming thing started. thats how the cows went mad - WE (bc WE are higher than the cows aparently cuz we can think and do stuff with ou hands) fed cows cows. FOR WHAT? to feed ourselves.
WE ruin OURSELVES by using drugs. WHY WOULD WE DO THAT? bc it gives us a stress free feeling. A HIGH! i dont see a panda smokin weed anywhere...DO YOU?
we eat other animals. animals eat other animals but then they give back to the community by getting eaten by some other bigger animal. i dont see some1 eating us. not that i want that but still we are the biggest CONSUMERS!!!! we are like the "what doesnt fit" in a group of "what fits".
my rant is done.
cuz im hungry.
ok im back. again. to edit for like the 80th time.
TO CARTOON: animals get high but they do it because THEY DONT KNOW its bad for them! we know, yet we do it. wtf? ants war ....okay i dont have a rebuttle for that. oh wait yea i do. we war too. but we torture people, we hold POWs. altho we might have compassionate reasons to be doing so but there is ALWAYS an alternative to war. it might not be effective as war. but we dont need to torture people or hold people prisoners outside of their country or put em in concentration camps. tell me if ants do that. do ants get a sick pleasure out of pulling out each others body parts. or do ants fight about stupid stuff like religion (im not saying religion is stupid. im saying FIGHTING OVER RELIGION is stupid) and you seem to be saying both things. pick a side.!
( oyea. i do agree with you (carToon) about us being smart for our own good)
[ editing for the 81rst time :P ]
in conclusion, humans suck. this is so because we do more damage than animals. animals will do damage if they even get advance enough to do so. ( im giving credit to the cartoon guy for this...somewhat reluctantly (((no offense, ima competitive person)))) BUT, even if the humans manage to kill themselves, animals will never get to reach that advanced stage. That is because of OUR deeds. See, when we go down, we bring the rest of the world down with us. So therefore we do the most damage.
THE END.
(editing for 82nd time....ineedtogetalife...ahem)
ok fine. cartoon wins. i still quite dont know his(her?) sounds like a dude. idk. anyway. i still dont know his/her stand FOR SURE. im PRETTY SURE ITS that: HUMANS dont suck but they dont rock the world either.
i still think humans suck. but only cuz im stubborn. but i definetley belive that the world would have been a better place if we hadnt evolved from apes. well not for us. well we wouldnt know bc we didnt exist. so...erm...never mind.
o yea jimmy: great question. i starred it.! (I AM NOT SUCKING UP. i never suck up okay.)(just so you know... i just realized how sucking up-ish that sounded)
THE FINAL FINAL END. i swear.

Did you ever realize that Humans are the only forms of life that can seek revenge, are wasteful, and harm other living things just for the fun of it and yet choose NOT to? That makes me know that man really is highest form of life. The people who do choose to do those things are just a$$holes! Don't judge all of mankind just by what the a$$holes do, please!

I hate ansering you question with a quote but this is the best way I have ever heard it summed up."For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much - the wheel, New York, wars and so on - whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man - for precisely the same reasons."~Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Revenge, I am not sure about, but as for the other two, other animals can be wasteful (they will consume until their environment cannot support the consumpmtion anymore), and guess that you haven't seen a cat play with a mouse... They do enjoy it.
"Highest" form of life depends on the definition, but almost always involves our brand of intelligence, and demonstrates egotism... But having said that, as "intelligent" as we might (or might not) be, we share our basic impulses with a number of different animals, especially the "higher" mammals... ;-) It s our intelligence that in fact makes us more harmful to our environment, and dangerous to both other life forms, and ourselves...

Do you ever realize that human beings are the only forms of life that care for their sick, injured, elderly, feed a stranger, give of his or hers time to help someone in need, show compassion. If someone fell down, would you help that person up or kick him/her. The human you describe kicks the fallen person. But there is another kind of human, he/she stops and helps the other person up. Each of us have to decide which kind of human we want to be. This may be the only reason why we are here. To see which way we decide.

The Vishnu Purana says that the earth is merely one of
thousands of millions of inhabited worlds like itself
to be found in the universe. Since they are created by
the one Alimighty who is infinite, they all must look
similar. This excludes the possibility of E.T. (extra
terrestial beings with fantastic gears) proposed by
some science finction writers.
The Vedas say that humans are the highest among
creation.

i agree with you completely,
and yes i have realized this but i dont think many have...
i think the only reason we are looked at as the highest lifeform would be because we eat everything else... lol.....
your completely right though we have trashed this earth so much... and all the animals have done is take our downfall and cleaned up after us and have lost lives because of our waste... but does anybody notice of course not.... society is way to caught up in making money...... its such a shame....

I hate to be the one to burst your bubble (no I don'r) but there are
members of the animal kingdom that kill for no reason.
The Lobo will take down a cow or other animal just for the heck of it.
And there are members of the insect family that seek revenge.

May be true, but consider this more compelling argument:
Human Beings are the only animals who are punished by their mistakes more than once. We naturally remind ourselves of the mistakes we've made, and continue to make the same mistakes, but more importantly, we kick ourselves for making these mistakes continuously, never forgiving ourselves for making those mistakes, even when we are not making mistakes of that nature. Our 'higher level of consciousness' is the main obstacle in our way of self progression.

Chimpanzees, for one, do all of these things. So do dolphins.
There is nothing we do that is not derived from what other animals do - the difference between us and them is only in the degree to which we are able to solve abstract problems, or at least to recognize the nature of such problems..
