Basically, this info is available onlinme or at any library. the theory of Evolution, first refined and popularized by Charles Darwin, tells how complex life forms slowly evolved over time due to minute changes (mutations) from generation to generation. Survival of the Fittest explains how organisims gradually improved from being just little single cells to humans, dolphins etc. info on evolution of matter and the Big Bang is also available almost everywhere. I would start with Carl Sagan and his book Cosmos. Fascinating stuff. :-)

Search wikipedia. Look for "origin of life." That's a good start, and should have some sources you can follow up with.
