First, use hot soapy water and the best soap to use is dish washing liquid...

Rinse well.

Use white vinegar with newspaper as a rag. Vinegar removes all grease and grime, which is causing the streaks. Newspaper works great with vineagar and don't worry about the vinegary smell... it only smells when it's wet so once it's dry it'll be gone.

You can also use paste car wax on your windows. This will repel grime, dust and grease... Makes it easier to wash and less stuff will adhere to it. You can also do this inside the house, by the way. In the winter, it even keeps the windows from getting fogged up.

I personally like to wash my windows with windex, however I wipe it down with newspaper. This should help with the streaks.

I use Windex (or whatever glass cleaner I have on hand) on my car but instead of using towels, I use newspapers. That keeps my windows from getting all those streaks. But that does get my hands full of ink from the newspapers and that's easily corrected by washing my hands.

It might not be the cleaning product. I use Windex and it is actually fine. I recommend cleaning with newspaper instead of paper towels or a cloth.

Windex always works for me- you probably got wax on your windows or armour all, this will cause the streaks you are talking about.

Make sure you're not washing them in direct sunlight or when the window is hot. Use a clearner with some amonia and wipe dry with newspapers (they leave no lint.)

Those new microfibre clothes work great. And you don't even need any cleaners. You just use water. I bought one that was quite expensive, I think $10 but I love it. They clean everything off so easily and they don't streak at all. They also carry them at dollar stores. I haven't noticed any difference between the two except the more expensive one is thicker.

try using vinegar and newspaper they work the best especially if you are a smoker and work in circles to ensure you arent leaving streaks. a professional window cleaner told me to do that. good luck!
