well simple way is to just set up a camera on a tripod, place an object in the viewer and take a photo, move the object, take a photo, move the object, take a photo, move the object, take a photo, move the object, take a photo, move the object, take a photo.

So imagine doing that with all the different objects in a scene, or in the case of the likes of Wallace and Gromit, having to move the actual models shapes around too. LOT of work - oh and you've to do it with 25 photos for each second.

then there's lighting to consider - to make sure it's consistent, the timing of the speech, job for a more patient man than I!

The camera idea started off correctly. Take a picture move the object, the faster you want the object to go the farther you move the object each time.
Start of experimenting, what happens if you move the object 1 inch every time, what happens if you move it 1/4 of an inch each time. What happens if you move it 1/8 once 1/4 the next 1/2 the next etc.
The images should be shown at 24 frames a second not 25, each image is shown for 2 frames. so 12 pictures every second.
This, like all types of animation takes patience. for 1 minuet of animation you need 720 photographs.
