I'm new to this and noticed as I read along, how we all have differences/unique issues we all encounter. In different ways than others, but in essence the same goal - to cope or resolve questions that linger... I love to live in the moment and to the fullest, but once in a blue moon, I'll think about my purpose and in the end... where exactly will all this lead to. I guess what I want to know is... If you could put in one word... What is it exactly that motivates you to live up to your expectations for yourself?

Love - its a feeling. no matter where your coming from, your always seeking that which brings you pleasure. we all want to feel good. Now, what makes you feel good? its different for everybody, but that explains your 'differences/unique issues'
and a lot of us get confused as to what makes us feel good, mislead by feelings of immediat gratification while it may hurt in the long run.
we all seek warmth, we all seek light, what takes us there, the fight we share, who knows whats truely right.

One word? Nothing.

I've learned not to place expectations on myself or anyone. Life is just too short for that. And disappointment comes from expecation. When you don't expect - everything is good - as what comes along is a gift in itself.

It's hard to let go of expectation. But ultimately, that's what makes the journey more glorious. I am like you, in that I live life similarly to how you like to live it and that 'once in a blue moon' pondering moment rears its head and you often have to just wonder.

But bottom-line, life is what you make of it... as you are living it. No one's life (no matter how it appears from the outside) is perfect. We all have our own inner demons we deal with, frustrations, challenges. But it's HOW we choose to deal/look at the big picture. Our lives don't really 'lead to anything'..... they are what they are as we live them.

If you live life with the idea you are living for the 'expectation' of what lies ahead, you're really not living your life in the present today in the here and now. And since none of us know when the 'end' is.... we could be living life with the idea of what is the end. And honestly that's no way to live.

I live with this philosophy.....everyday - make a difference. Beit a kind gesture, helping someone who needs help, offering support, cheer, a smile, advice, sharing, etc.....making a moment matter - that's a great way to live. And that's what life should be about everyday. So if you die tomorrow, and never live long enough to figure out what it all leads to anyway, you've done something with your life as you lived it.

Not in one word.

I can tell you life is about the journey, as the destination is the same for everyone.

Respect. I was raised to believe that whatever you do, you give it 100%. If you can say you did your best, then you have done well and been honest.
