Congress needs to vote to go to war.
Congress is made up of mostly democrats.
Democrats prefer to hug the enemy.

We won't likely see a war in the near future.

I don't hope for war and I never do unless it's in the name of securing America. I hope this situation can be resolved diplomatically, but I just don't see that happening with Iran's leader talking about wiping us off the map.

Maybe we should sit and wait on this one like the liberals would like us to do and let Iran develop a nuke. Then Iran can launch that sucker at us and nuke an American city.....Just then the liberals might wake up...maybe.

Then after an American city gets nuked all the liberals will be crying and screaming, running around blaming the government for not protecting them and foreseeing the Iranian threat. Then all the real men would answer their nation's call while all the hippies would again stay at home criticizing our American men in uniform crying about protecting the freedoms of enemy combatants. Then all those hippies would grow to be teachers and professor's of the arts and brainwash our children and teach them that America is the enemy and that we are to blame for all the world's problem....It's a very destructive cycle.

Mr. Gung-ho Bush isn't going to listen to the rest of the world.

He once said that he wanted to be known as a war president, that he wakes up with war on his mind. He constatly scares folks with 9/11, he lies about Iraq, he abuses power and consolidates government.

Will he go to war with Iran? I don't know. My opinion? Probably....

Lets review the events of the last few weeks: troop surge, 21,500 more to Iraq. (or is that what we are being told), another carrier fleet to the Gulf, doubling of the strategic oil reserves, rhetoric beween the two countrys heating up, weapons in Iraq now found to be from Iran, Iranian general has been captured in Iraq. Hmmm seems like the odds are good. But I think the real question is will it ignite W.W.W. l l l?

God I hope so. Iran has a terrorist president and he needs to be taken out. Even his own people are trying to get an early vote to get him out early. If they succeed, there won't be a reason to go to war with Iran.

No - not in this presidential term anyway. If Bush tries to invade Iran, he will be impeached. If Ahmadinejad holds out against the US for much longer, his own faltering support base will collapse. Both sides want to posture for as long as they can, but it is in the interests of neither to seek conflict. The US may attempt some aerial bombings along the border, and Iran will wait for the international community to hold out enough incentives for it to come to the table. It's all a global game of chicken.

I hope not.

Or if we do, I hope we wait until we've finished with the present Middle-Eastern quagmires first.

But really, I hope we don't at all.

Ummm... Mommyof4 (below): the President moves troops around all the time without going to Congress: we haven't declared war in quite a long time, with either party in power. This isn't 1941, you know, no matter how much you would like to pretend it is.
