It's mostly because the people who hate the PS3 are 360 fanboys and Wii fanboys.

I'm sure that a lot of people hate the PS3 because it's so expensive, so they're jealous that they can't get one. They're like that fox who can't get a fruit so he just assumes that it's sour just so that he'll feel better. Same for these people who can't afford a PS3. They rather assume that it's faulty just so that they feel good about themselves getting a 360 or a Wii.

A lot of it also has to do with Sony's launch. If you read the EGM article, it has a lot of good reasons about why people hate the PS3 so much. The PS3 didn't have a lot on launch, so the demand was way, way, way more than the supply, which made a lot of people angry. A lot of the people who got the PS3 on launch immediately put it up on Ebay just to earn a few hundred extra bucks. That pissed off a lot of gamers who wanted the PS3, but couldn't get one. Then there's the violence. Cops shot and killed a guy who stole 2 PS3 from someone because the thief had a weapon in his hand. In New England, muggers shot a guy who wouldn't hand over his PS3 money. Then there were stores who turned the launch into a game. At one store, employees told people to stand behind a line, and then have them rushed to the door to get a PS3. Another store had musical chairs to decide who would get a PS3. You can see why gamers are so pissed off with Sony. A lot of it isn't Sony's fault, but at the same time, it is sort of Sony's fault for not having enough PS3 available for the launch. The Wii was also in short demand, but there were no violence.

It looks like Sony went a little too far in their upcomming gaming console, and are now having problems making flawless working units.

The IMDB is reporting that a Chinese newspaper has claimed the Blu-ray players could derail the November release date for Sony’s console. The story says that the plant that makes the diodes for the Blu-ray’s blue laser “have been plagued by production problems” and have not been able to meet the demand.

Then there is Gizmodo talking about an article from Electronic News stating that the Cell processor is also causing them to slip up with only 10 or 20 percent of the CPU’s being PS3 ready. That means they have to create almost five Cell processors to get one that is good enough for the PlayStation 3. That takes production time, and money from Sony, making the November release look even shakier.

Someone reasons why people 'hate' the PS3.

1. SONY....many consumers just dont like the company
2. Price...the PS3 doesnt have to cost this much. If Sony was not pushing blu-ray the PS3 would be $400 or less. Since Sony is pushing blu-ray they are using the PS3 to get it into people's homes. It is working but it is costing the average joe and the average gamer to pay extra for something they dont intend to use.
3. The games...not many games out right now for the PS3 and the console is counting on some existing, although Great franchises, to keep them alive like MGS4 and God of War.
4. Sony not acknowledging the competition...Wii and XBOX360 are kicking Sony's behind right now. The Sony execs have ignored that fact and in doing so it hurts the person who owns a PS3 because they arent working to make their product better.

The above are observations I have made from looking at what the PS3 'hater's have to say.

Yes that's true, and we're not like you rich *** kids who waste our money.

Plus who the hell would pay 600 bucks for a console. I mean, I'd rather buy a cheap laptop with that kind of money or even an 8800 (nvidia video card) for my system..
