I have very scar prone skin and form keloids very easily. i am worried that when I am pregnant that I will get very bad streatch marks. My friends were terrible and I dont want the same for me.

Any suggestions on creams, techniques etc that you found to help? Do the creams post partum prior to them turning white help ease the scarring? Thanks!

Jessica I have two grown daughters, 24 and 25. When I was pregnant someone told me to use 100% cocoa butter. I tried it and I have no stretch marks on my stomach. I, on the other hand did not use it on my breast, and there I have stretch marks. So I know the cocoa butter worked for me. You can get it at most drug stores. It comes in a stick not in lotion form. Hope it works for you!

really you are going to get stretch marks while you are pregnant because as your belly grows your skin stretches so there is nothing you can do a lot avoid them but there are things that CAN HELP!! Drink plenty of water gives your skin elasticity and there is Palmer's cream for stretch marks it is co co butter it has a picture of a pregnant woman on the from it will lighten them also regular coco butter will help as well rub it on you belly every day a couple times a day when you get up after your shower and before you go to bed but remember LOTS OF WATER good luck

I used a great product from about 4 mos on. I didnt get even one stretch mark!! Its called Tummy Honey Butter. Try Amazon.com to buy it. Some Raleys stores carry it as well, in the organic section. It is somewhat greasy, but I felt like it worked very well!!

Another thing to try to avoid is rapid weight gain, and/or a lot of weight gain.

The best way to avoid stretch marks is to adopt!

Since the very beginning of my pregnancy I have lubed up with every stretch mark preventing cream out there. I also drink tons of water, eat lots of fruits and veggies, and do everything you are supposed to do to prevent them. I am now extremely moisturized, hydrated & healthy with stretch marks all over my tummy.

My advice is to save your money and hope that your genetics work in your favor!

Sorry - They are genetic, and unavoidable. I have them so bad, all the way around the belly, all over my hips and thighs, and all the way down to my calves.

Thank God I have a supportive and loving husband.

They say that it is genetic - if you have a genetic predisposition, you will get them regardless of all the creams in the world. If you don't have the genetic predisposition, you won't get them, even if you use no creams. So ask your mom if she got them, and don't waste your money.
