we we're to put on a miss white whatever pagent.. i mean in my town we have a miss black _______ pagent. i am tired of having to give special treatment to them because people who lived 100 years ago and more made slaves out of them. i never did it!!! none of my family members ( past or present ) ever owned slaves. in fact some of them sold themselves as indentured servants just so that they could come to this country.(i.e. slaves) i realy do not believe racialism exist any more in the civilized world except thiers for the white comunity. i realy just do not understand why we all cann't just forget about skin color and just pay attention to who the person is not what they are..

ok i think i worded this wrong i am not really that upset about the pagent my point was that there really should not be a miss black/white pagent it should be all inclusive. we will never be able to forget the race factor if we do not keep shoving it in each others faces. my question was a call for forgiveness and understanding.
oh and i know that none of my family ever owened slaves because no one in my family has ever had the kind of resources it would have required.

Just because it's not called "Miss White pageant" doesn't mean that not what it is. Historically only White women have won, very few African American women or other ethnicity's have won. Why is that? I honestly think that some people need to open their eyes, White people NOT the only beautiful people in the world. If a Black woman enters she is being judged by how Caucasian she looks. Why would I as a Black/African woman, enter a pageant contest that isn't going to accept me because I'm not European looking? Doesn't make sense right? I hope things well change and everything will become equal but until then, we will continue to have our own Black organizations. Young Black girls need to feel that they are beautiful too!

I think that the Miss America Pagent are primarly for white beauty queens. I think that the Black pagent is just a way for one group to express their difference. I mean it is not to be taken offensively. I think that you might be overreacting just a little.

i agree with you but putting on a "miss white pagent show" is dumb because there are people out there who DONT think like you and are more sensitive on the topic. Why would you want to cause more drama? And also if you hate how they do miss black pagent shows why would you want to copy what they do..if you want to stop thinkning about skin color why would u do a miss white pagent show??? why dont u just do a simple pagent show 4 EVERYONE.

oh gosh stop it, why does this bother you.... it was probably created because your town had one main pagent I am pretty sure that black ladies were probably only recently allowed to participate... so what were black people supposed to sit around and continue to be ignored instead of starting their own pagent... and now because some want to believe everything is better the black people are supposed to dismantle their organizations and pagents which were created because of your peoples crazy mindset, I think not!

The beauty pageant answer is that "There aren't that many African-American females that enter those pageants because very few win! They need a pageant where they actually have a chance to win. No matter what they say or who stays in the competition theres always people thinking about race."

If the rules were truly followed, all contestants would be intelligent and exude grace and beauty, This alone would disqualify 99.9% of the sistas.
BTW, there were a lot more than two black Miss Americas and they won only because of political pressure. Some of them proved to be real disgraces.

The Miss America pageant has only had two black winners since It's start in 1920. That's basically "Miss white America."
Racism is still very alive. Everybody tries to deny It but It's still here. If there was no racism then there would be no KKK and no need for the black panthers because everybody would be getting along. Having no racism is not just you not being discriminated against, It's everybody not being discriminated against.

How could you say that you wish that people would look past skin when your a racist. Black people are not the only people why have pageants such as these. Pretty much all the races do. That's what happens when you live in a country such as ours with a multitude of different races. Stop singling black people out you bigot.

i feel you on the whole forget about race statement but it is a fact that black women were not allowed to compete in pageants so we as a people petitioned and fought for our own. so dont get upset if that is still in effect
