It seems to me that getting paid for even one $20 survey is fantastic. What's up with these sites-- specifically the ones that don't even ask you for money? What's the trick? What's the downfall? Can I really just give them my e-mail address and then fill out more than $500 in surveys each week?
What information should I NOT give them when arranging to be paid?

I assumed I'd get spammed and created an e-mail account just for that site... but aside from spam, do you really get a bunch of legitimate surveys with no other catches?

I have joined a few survey panels but none that pays $20 a survey. Some will pay $5 or $10 if you qualify but what I do is create a separate email account because you will receive a lot of emails from these people asking you to fill out surveys, most of which do not pay you money. The panels I join do not require you to pay any money but ask for your name and address so they have a place to send you your check. The surveys that say you can earn $500 a week are just telling you the potential. You have to qualify by being the category they are looking for depending on the company who is asking a survey be done.

Having so many paid surveys available all the time lets you live the kind of life you want.
I travel with my family 3 or 4 months every year! While I'm on vacation, I love to take paid surveys while relaxing on the beach. I can pay for my entire stay in just a few hours of taking surveys!

Not all survey site are scams. There are just 2 rules:
1. Never pay membership- they are just getting money from you!
2. Check to see if they are reputable.
You will not often earn more than $5 or $6 for surveys but it is handy cash! Check out http://freewebs.com/surveyopportunities for a list of good paid survey sites.

I believe that many are scams. I have signed up for numerous surveys. But I refused to pay anything up front. I have only gotten $5 once. Some of them say they are free, but then once you get into the survey, you are required to accept one of their sponsor offers. I find that very misleading.
I do enjoy doing surveys, but so far I have yet to see them as a means of bringing in cash.
I would not give them any information other than your e-mail address and your home address, so that if you do get paid, they know where to send the check.

I tried the free sites and they spam you like crazy, I wish I never did it. I don't have the nerve to try a paid membership either, I already get about 150 spam emails a day and I just started signing up about a week or so ago.

If your smart, you would stay away from them.
If you have to give an E-mail, Go to MSN and get a new one especially for that site so you can cancel that e-mail when it is no longer convenient to you.
Any other info you give out could be used for identity theft,
DON'T EVER GIVE, bank acct numbers, , credit card numbers, passport numbers, copies of Voided blank cheques.
As far as you getting paid, they have to make money somehow and I don't see how filling in surveys by you, gets them money, only a lot of information that can tell a lot about you.
Like I say, I would avoid them...Good Luck
