First of all, call the surgeon and explain the situation. Tell him/her that you're still experiencing pain and need a follow-up visit. They made prescribe additional x-rays or an MRI to find out where the problem lies.

It sounds like you may have gone straight to the emergency room and if that is the case, you can also call the hospital directly and speak to the Patient Relations Department. Make sure that you have all of the relevant information right there by the phone, such as your insurance info, social security number, patient identification number (you can find it on any paper work they gave you), name of the doctor(s) who treated you, and the date(s) of surgeries. You may have to speak to several different people, just insist on re-visiting the original caretakers. If the original doctor(s) can't find the problem, seek another opinion. Sure hope you find the solution, sorry to hear you're in pain.

I'd say go to a good orthopaedist and get a second opinion, and maybe get a referral for some physical therapy. The new orthopaedist could determine wheter the original care you received was indeed poor.
