that type food has to be consumed within a certain amount of time, imagine waiting 30 min to get hot fries and burger and they turn up all soggy and sweaty from being toted in that warm bag (yuck) plus they would have to hire massive amounts of people to keep up with the supply and demand of delivery

It is possible to keep Pizza etc hot and reasonably moist in containers. This cannot be done with fast fried foods. Burgers, whilst staying warm, will rapidly congeal, because of the nature of the fats in the meat. Fries will cool quickly and become soggy, and fried chicken in batter will be horribly chewy when allowed to cool a bit - not to mention the health risks from bacteria multiplying with vigour in the lukewarm meat.

If you wish to eat burgers in the home, but some Birds Eye and grill (broil) them for 10 mins per side. Its a heck of a lot cheaper than buying the MacPongalls or Burger Ping varieties, and the burgers are better, anyway. Lea and Perrins make a decent burger relish, if that is what you miss, and the purchase of bread rols should not be beyond the most limited intellect, or palate. Oven chips (fries) are dead easy; McCain make microwaveable chips, or you can even try buying some red potatoes, cutting them really thin and frying them in 'crisp and dry' in a wok for a few minutes.

Or try Lobster Thermidor au crevettes, cooked in the Provencal style with maitre d'hotel butter, a fried egg on top, and spam. (Monty Python)

Macdonalds, burger king and kfc survive on the high street and its more cost effective for people to come to them and order. Chinese and indian are independent and rely on as much custom as possible so supply a delivery service

Because they dont need to. They make lots and lots of money by just take aways and eat in. But in some countries e.g. India, Mc Donalds do deliver at people's houses. But i also think Burger King, KFC & Mcdonalds should deliver because i dont have to go all the way to them which is kind of boring.

Because KFC, McDonald's and Burger King have drive thru's for people on the go. I kinda wonder if there business would be as good if they did deliver. Probably so, right?

probably because they get enough money being on the high street. I have heard of my local Mcdonalds deliver once it was in my local paper a few months back the prision cookers had broken down so prision officers had to order mcdonalds it was something like 2000 burgers, chips and milkshakes

I think they figure, I am making you die quickly anyway. Might as well drive in your car and walk a bit to get there. Gives you a little bit of exercise. But i am not sure i dont eat fast food.

Great question - I'd put it down to competition and reduction in price of food, economies of scale.

They don't need the hassle and they do plenty of business without the need to provide delivery.
