Whatever you do - don't say that the Sox got rid of 2 of their best pitchers. Garcia was just awful from April - August, and McCarthy did nothing special at all. So improving on their 2006 performances will not be hard.
And it is a shame that people don't understand what don't stop believing was - a joke! It was a request to a lounge singer in a hotel bar!
Stop acting like you know about the Sox tigerboy, because you don't. But I would love to look into this crystal ball that makes it some kind of fact that the Tigers are better this year with Gary "I have a lot of steroids to hide, so no testimony for me" Sheffield. And I love how this ball tells you that losing "only made them stronger and more hungry". Maybe, just maybe it made the Sox, Twins, A's, Indians, and a few other teams "hungry" too.

This year?
The Detroit Tigers have a better chance of winning it all, of course. The Tigers added Gary Sheffield, which will make them all that much more explosive.
Plus our pitching staff is still intact. Jeremy Bonderman is working on a change-up to go with his wicked slider. Bonderman will only get better as the years go by. Not to mention Justin Verlander (who has been clocked at 101 mph) and Joel Zumaya out of the pen (he's been clocked at 103 mph).
And what have the whinny sux done this off season?
Traded away 2 of their "so called" best pitchers.
Why yes, the whinny sux did win in 2005----88 years after they last won. At least it doesnt take The Tigers 88 years to win a World series.
And, you know, I love that song "dont stop believing"....JUST A CITY BOY, BORN AND RAISED IN SOUTH DETROIT...

I like to play the odds...
Odds are the Tigers pitching (lights out last year and projected to do the same this year) flames out like most top pitching staffs after a WS appearance.
To the guy upstairs... AL central is the best in baseball right now and teh Sox won 90 last year and finished third. If you think they will fall behind the Indians and Royals then you dont know baseball.
I predict
1 Tigers
2 ChiSox (wild card winner)
3 Twins
4 Cle
5 KC
ChiSox beat the Mets in 7 to win it all.
BTW what was the last BAD move Kenny Williams made? Never question a championship GM...

The whiny Tigers may have lost the World Series, but they did play in it. The White Sox didn't. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Tigers back in the Series this year.

The Tigers have the better shot of these teams (the Whiny Sox can't win from 4th or 5th place in their division). The real winner will be the Red Sox!!!! remember 2004??? We swept the Cards.
