Why are people so obssessed over the "end" of the Mayan calendar? Does our world come to screeching halt every year when our calendar ends on December 31st? No, we start a new calendar. That's exactly what the Mayan calendar does...it starts over.

Hopefully, the five intertwined rings and red cross on a blue and white background, amongst the Mayan hieroglyphics, indicates a record gold medal hoard for Great Britain in the 2012 Olympics!

The mayan calendar is usually circular- what goes around, comes around. I think that on December something or other 2012, the universe will hit its reboot key- and the universe will restart new. (I should say, I think the mayans thought that)

Maybe you mean the aztecs, they predicted that on the 22nd December 2012 the world will end. At least we can save money on christmas presents I guess.
