The Civil War took place in the 1860's, but in the 1840's Texas had the war against Mexico. Then, Texas was there own "country" they had there own President, and were apart from the United States. (Remember the Alamo?) This was the war where you got most of the well known Civil War Heros. The United States won and signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, and took Texas to fulfill the dream of eventually getting all the land from "Sea to Shining Sea."

The US fought in the War of 1812 against the British and in a war against Mexico in 1846. The French Revolution was going on from 1789-1815. France was fighting itself then the alliance between the UK, Austria, Russia and Prussia.
