I'm too lazy to sweep mine out, I use my hoover (bagged) & it does work great. No dust, no mess.

NO! I agree you would with the previous response, you would have to take it apart and clean it, I used to have a Dyson and I got sick and tired of cleaning it all the time, now I use a bagged vacuum and I don't have to clean a thing, so if you're going to vacuum out your fireplace get a bagged vacuum and you can do it no problem.

If you clean your fireplace out regularly I would suggest that you buy a really cheap small canister vacuum and use it for that job and you can also use it to clean out your car too, so you don't drag your expensive dyson outside. I've had one, in addition to my built in vac and my expensive canister, for 10 yrs and it's been a great little work-horse.

I would say no, because you would end up having to take it apart and wash everything ,and then you would have to buy a new filter , because by the time you had finished with it most likely it would be completely wasted
