The likelyhood that Long Island would be hit by a tornado is 0.67 tornadoes per 10,000 square miles and 80 tornadoes were reported for all of New York for a 25 year period. To give you some perspective the center of Oklahoma is likely to be hit by 7.9 tornadoes per 10,000 square miles i.e. approximately 12 times more likely. Although this does not answer your question directly it is about the best you can do from tornado statistics. The best way to find out definitively would be to do an archive search in the Long Island Newspaper.
