Abuse as a child had forced me to hold in feelings and thoughts and bottle up anger which set me into a depressed state, and made me think about and want to kill.

Today I will not tolerate any form of abuse on mine or anyone elses children because I understand how that child feels and what does to them. I am also very conscious about ensuring my family have a balance in their lives and always help them to understand why things are the way they are.

The fact that my father cheated on my mother. It taught that it's good to be financially independent even when married so as not to be forced to stay with your husband for financial reasons only. On the other hand it has made me a little suspicious of men, although i'm trying hard to overcome this, and having a faithful (hopefuly!) boyfriend for the past 6years has helped a lot!

Whenever something or a situation brings me pain...I always ask myself what lessons am I supposed to learning from this?

The more I asked that question the less problems I had in life.

I has 2 friends that backstabbed me a few years ago. That left me very hurt. I asked the question, what lesson was I supposed to learn.
I needed to learn to find healthier friends. I now have awesome friends in my life now.

I was sexually and physically abused as a child. It taught me how important dignity, respect, and love are to a child. It also taught me a lot about what I want to do in this world... good, healing, respectful things... I want to help people, not hurt them. I'm almost 35... a teacher, volunteer, and emergency-based foster parent. So far, so good. Thanks for asking.
